Meals are not allowed in the room, but drink service will be offered. Hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the room and no spectators will be allowed. Masks will be required as they are in all areas of the casino.
Borgata is Atlantic City’s highest-grossing casino and is home to one of the largest poker rooms in the country. This will be the first of five poker rooms in town to reopen.

According to a Press of Atlantic City report, Borgata will reopen a 77-table poker room with some restrictions in place to ensure a safe environment.
“We are delighted to welcome back our loyal players as we reopen the market leading East Coast poker destination in Atlantic City,” Borgata president and COO Melanie Johnson told the daily newspaper.
Only 30 of the 77 tables will be used and the game will be spread over seven hands. Plexiglass dividers between players have become sort of the standard in live poker after COVID -19 and will be used in Borgata’s rooms as well. Only cash games will be offered at the initial re-opening.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy forced his state casinos to close in mid-March, as has been done across the country in response to the spread of the coronavirus. But New Jersey is one of the country’s most cautious states when it comes to reopening.
Murphy allowed the physical casino to reopen on July 2 but announced that indoor eating and drinking would not be allowed just days before reopening. The ban caused Borgata to postpone its opening until the end of the month after briefly adjusting its business plans.
The delayed timeline also caused the New Jersey poker market to be one of the last to reopen. Massachusetts and New York still do not resume live poker at their commercial casinos, but nearly every other state allows the game to continue. In California, regulators are allowing poker to continue beyond to help curb the spread of the virus.
